Not much to report today! I initially planned out all these things to see around the island. But I really want to relax and not rush around like all my other trips so today we went back to the same beach as yesterday. This time we got there an hour earlier which makes a huge difference in parking!!! We checked out Anthony Quinn Bay beach on the way down to Lindos and it was nice but felt cramped and small.
Headed back down to Lindos where I spent glorious time swimming in the clear salty sea. Also, I figured out why people say the walk down to the beach is steep. There are two entrances to go down after you turn left from the entrance of town. The first entrance on the right is quicker to get down to the beach but is steep. If you continue on down the initial turn and bypass the first entrance to the beach, it's a gentle downward slope to the other beach parking lots and also to a restaurant with a huge sign that says this way to the beach.
Afterwards we went back to the hotel to shower and then out for dinner. Went to this place I did not love but it was very beautiful to sit outside. I felt like I was in a movie. Quaint restaurant built of stones on a quiet pedestrian corner of the medieval town. But the food was hit or miss. Mostly salty and just ok.
Walking around the Old Town at night is really nice though. I will say that Disney's attempt at replicating cute little European villages is pretty spot on because I felt like we could be in Epcot Center!
Also...beer is sooooo cheap here. We bought these two for less than 2 euros!!!
Lastly, forgot to mention that at midnight last night, I felt my bed rumble. Then it started to move and the room shook. Turns out there was a 5.2 earthquake that hit Symi and we felt it in Rhodes!!!! Was a freaky 15 seconds. Apparently earthquakes are a bit common here. No one talked about it here the next day!!
